  1. Background

 

The Mandela Bay Development Agency (MBDA) is a municipal entity that was established in 2004 by the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality (NMBM) to introduce urban renewal projects and initiatives into the inner cities and various emerging and developing nodes of the Nelson Mandela Bay (which comprises Port Elizabeth, Uitenhage and Despatch).

The MBDA hereby wishes to invite suitably qualified and experienced service providers in the auditing field to undertake the scope of work outlined below.

The MBDA has embarked on a process to appoint a service provider to conduct a Performance Information Review (Audit of Predetermined Objectives).

  1. Objectives of the review

To appoint a service provider to conduct a risk maturity assessment on the current state of the adequacy and effectiveness of risk management throughout the organisation and the Risk Management Function and make recommendations for improvement.

OPERATIONS
The MBDA hereby invites suitably qualified service providers to supply, maintain and service all fire alarms, hydrants and fire extinguishers for all MBDA facilities. NOTE: These Services are for a period of 12 months only. Fire Related services will include: 1. Supply and Installation of all related fire equipment 2. Service of all existing fire equipment i.e.: Fire hydrants, fire extinguishers, fire alarms etc. 3. Signage (as per health and safety regulations) 1. Component requirements: 1.1.The Main Applicant must have relevant knowledge in Fire related equipment. 1.2. Must have the relevant equipment and machinery to execute the required works including: 1.3. Suitable vehicle to transport and deliver materials. 1.4. The Applicant must be a registered and be an accredited service provider in their perspective field. Service providers will be expected to provide quotations as and when required for specific needs identified by the MBDA during the contract period.

OPERATIONS

PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR A NEW DEVELOPMENT AT THE GELVANDALE VICTIM SUPPORT CENTRE

The MBDA requires services of a Registered Professional Engineer ONLY to design platforms, retaining wall, staircase, supervision of construction work, produce tender documentation and ensure conformance with relevant regulatory requirements for fully serviced converted containers.

The successful service provider will be required to do the following:

  • Prepare detailed specifications and engineering drawings that will be required for the platforms.
  • Acquire necessary approvals from local authorities
  • Prepare a Request For Proposals for construction.
  • Design a concrete retaining wall and boundary wall for the extension the existing one.
  • Design ramps and staircases for easy access on site.
  • Provide regular supervision, approvals and inspections during construction.
  • Design and approval of ALL (electrical, water and sewer) services on site.
  • Supervise and approve the earthworks.

Contract duration:

The contract period will not exceed 6-months.
