Two hundred events organizations eager for industry empowerment workshop

17 January 2023, more than two hundred event organizations, practitioners and various players within that value chain have responded to the call by the MBDA operated Tramways Events and Conference facility, to join a networking, knowledge sharing, and industry improvement workshop on Wednesday the 18 th of January 2023. “The workshop which will feature three experienced players is the industry is aimed at uplifting the standard of event hosting in the Bay, an effort aimed at supporting the growth of this lucrative tourism and leisure sector. With the recent flurry of film makers flocking to the Bay, thanks to its magnificent natural beauty, and landscape, the time is now for the Bay to up its game” says Marketing Manager at the MBDA, Luvuyo Bangazi. The workshop comes soon after the MBDA co-hosted the Market Access Expo, a platform for locally made and sourced brands to connect with buyers and sellers. The events workshop will feature a thought leadership panel presentation led by Michelle Brown of Brown’s PR, joined by Buzz Nanto of Obufemi Events, as well as Sesethu Gqomo Seyibokwe of SG Communications. The panel presentation will be followed by a facilitated discussion by Melissa Palmer of B&E Conference Center. Mel is the co-founder of the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Events Awards and has a deep passion for the events industry. A cap of two hundred has already been reached, however those who still wish to benefit from the content can do so by logging in via the MBDA’s Facebook and YouTube pages from 9am. The Tramway building which has become a permanent feature in the events venue portfolio of Nelson Mandela Bay was officially opened in October 2015, purposefully built to support the arts, heritage, and creative economy sector of the Bay.
