MBDA’s New Brighton Jazz docu-film to air on MpumaKapa TV

The Mandela Bay Development Agency (MBDA) in collaboration with filmmaker, Nomakhomazi Dewavrin has produced a short documentary film dedicated to the unsung New Brighton Jazz musicians. The docu-film is set to air on MpumaKapa TV, Channel 260 on DSTV and streamed on all MBDA social media platforms on the 28th of February 2021 at 15:30pm.

Statement from MBDA Board Chairperson, Mandlakazi Skefile on the passing of Cllr Ncediso Captain

It is with a sense of sadness to learn of the passing of Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Councillor Ncediso Captain of Ward 17 in New Brighton. Cllr Captain was instrumental in championing several successful community developments programs in his ward, in partnership with the MBDA. At the time of his passing, Cllr Captain was leading and facilitating the New Brighton Precinct Development Plan, a visionary programme that aims to unleash the cultural, heritage, and economic potential of New Brighton. On behalf of the MBDA Board, Management and Employees, I send our deepest condolences to his family, community, fellow councillors and his political party, the African National Congress. May his soul rest in peace.
