  Call for interested Creatives, Artists and Arts Lovers

Call for interested Creatives, Artists and Arts Lovers for possible selection to be part of the upcoming and inaugural Mandela Bay Festival, 26th July to 30th July 2016

The MBDA and NMBM are calling for the public to submit short Biographies or Profiles for possible selection and short term employment over the duration of the Mandela Bay Festival, 26th July to 30th July 2016. People should submit for one or more of the following :

Artists Coordinators Positions                             x 28

Venues Coordinators Positions                            x 21

Ushers Positions                                                       x 90

Cleaners Positions                                                    x 50

Performances and Exhibitions  (All Artforms)

Artists Coordinators Positions (28)

Will ensure programme at each venue is implemented according to plan, whilst liaising with Festival Committee, Artists, Media and Venue Coordinator. Experience in Artform coordination will be an advantage. Artists Coordinators are sought for the following Artforms :

Comedy | Craft | Dance | Drama | Fashion | Film | Heritage | Music | Spokenword | Street Theatre | ThinkFest | Visual Arts

Venue Coordinators Positions (21)

Will ensure technical and stage services at each venue are conducive and performance ready as stipulated by the Festival Committee and Artists Coordinators. Experience in venue and logistics coordination specifically in the art industry will be an advantage. Venue Coordinators are sought for the following Venue Profiles:

Venue 1: Craft Market, Street Theatre, House, Kwaito

Venue 2: Think-Fest, Poetry, Solo Acts, Comedy

Venue 3: Choral, Gospel

Venue 4: Dance, Drama, Jazz

Venue 5: Hip-Hop, Spoken-word, Visual Arts

Venue 6: Arts Exhibition

Venue 7: Fashion, Film

Venue 8: Heritage Seminars

Venue 9: Festival Closing Concert

Ushers Positions (90)

Friendly and presentable people who will be the face of the Mandela Bay Cultural Festival at all venues.

Cleaners Positions (50)

Responsible people who will ensure that the City and the Venues remain clean and healthy at all times.

Performances and Exhibitions  (All Artforms)

Performers, Writers, Thinkers, Visual Arts, Heritage Activists, Crafters, Designers, etc. who want to perform at the Mandela Bay Festival should submit their profiles as outlined below.

Submission Procedure

§  Get a Participation Form (that will go with your Profile or CV or Short Biography) available from All officials of Arts and Culture at NMBM SRAC Offices based at St Georges Park Office Complex.

§  Submit the Participation Form with your Profile or CV or Short Biography at Submission Boxes that will be stationed ONLY at the Directorate of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture situated at St Georges Park office from Friday 25th June till Thursday the 30th of June between 08h30 and 16h00 daily.

§  Electronic submissions: The NMBM will accept electronic submissions sent to email address mandelabayfest@mandelametro.gov.za.
