Many people do not know that November is CHILD PROTECTION
MONTH - and seemingly wasn't going to go unnoticed by MBDA staff member Isabel
Myburgh. Isabel decided she would host an educational “workshop” for the
children in her area of Kwa Dwesi Extension , which is in all reality a
very disadvantaged community.
Isa has hosted similar events previously funding them from
her own pocket but she is not complaining. She says " I’m doing it for the
love of my people. I am not a registered organization and I have no wish to be
. . . (simply because , I believe once people turns their passion into a
‘business' it losses it purpose and passion".
The workshop took place on Saturday the 21st of November
attended by 67 kids, aged between 6 and 18, discussing tops such as:
- Self-respect , love and responsibility
- Children’s rights
- Positive morality and engagement
- Dealing with Peer pressure
We are proud to have staff like Isabel who live
the values of the MBDA every day. We're happy to have played a small part in
making sure that Isabel's vision is fulfilled and in so doing, 67 deserving
kids got empowered. Well done Isabel.
