  Three performing arts scholarships will be awarded in 2015

Aspiring performing artists (Grade 12’s and individuals under the age of 25) are reminded that the deadline for participation in the sixth annual ACT | DALRO | Nedbank Performing Arts Scholarships Awards is Sunday, 31 May 2015.

Three performing arts scholarships will be awarded in 2015:
• 1st Prize: R150,000
• 2nd Prize: R 105,000
• 3rd Prize: R 60,000

The winners will be announced at the final event on the 12th of October, 2015, hosted by the Market Theatre in Newtown Johannesburg. Travel and accommodation will be covered by the Arts & Culture Trust (ACT.) For the auditions, participants are required to prepare a prescribed monologue, song and dance. In addition to the prescribed performances, contestants will also get an opportunity to perform a monologue of their own choice.

Participants are invited to register to audition in the following regions:
• 30 June and 1 July: Durban (KwaZulu-Natal)
• 3 and 4 July: Cape Town (Western Cape)
• 6, 7 and 8 July: Port Elizabeth (Eastern Cape)
• 15 July: Pretoria (Gauteng)
• 16 and 17 July: Johannesburg (Gauteng)
• 24 July: Kimberley (Northern Cape)
• 25 July: Bloemfontein (Free State)
• 28 July: Potchefstroom (North West)
• 30 July: Witbank (Mpumalanga)
• 01 August: Polokwane (Limpopo)

The closing date for registrations is Sunday 31 May, 2015.
