  Congratulations to MBDA CEO Dr Pierre for being elected to NMB Chamber board

The Board, staff and management of the MBDA wishes to congratulate the CEO, Dr Pierre Voges for his election into the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber board. We wish him and all the new members all the best in serving the citizens and business community of the Bay.

The Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber on Wednesday ushered in a new leadership period, welcoming its new board members elected at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Elizabeth Place in Port Elizabeth.

Newly elected board members are Telkom senior manager Michael Brockman, Work Dynamics executive consulting psychologist Vuyokazi Lekhelebana, Volkswagen Group South Africa Board member Sakumzi Macozoma, PKF director Simone Mao-Cheia, Investec regional head Cumeshan Moodliar, Wilderness Foundation chief executive officer Dr Andrew Muir, General Motors Sub-Saharan Africa president and managing director Ian Nicholls, Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University executive director: human resources Dr Gary William Paul, Volkswagen Group South Africa managing director Thomas Schaefer and Mandela Bay Development Agency chief executive Dr Pierre Voges.

As per the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber constitution, new office bearers – including a new president, two deputies and a treasurer – will be elected at the first meeting of the new board, planned for later this month on May 28.

Outgoing president Mandla Madwara thanked his two outgoing deputies; David Powels previously of Volkswagen Group of South Africa and Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University vice-chancellor Professor Derrick Swartz, for their support and leadership. Outgoing honorary treasurer Greg Billson was also thanked by both Madwara and Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber chief executive Kevin Hustler for over six years of dedicated service in this key position at the Chamber.

“I want to sincerely thank our President, Mr Mandla Madwara, for his sterling efforts over the past three years of his tenure as President of the Business Chamber in making the voice of organised business heard in the city, province and country. For championing our causes, engaging leadership on the highest political level and your relentless dedication towards the Chamber – we thank you. We look forward to working with you as our immediate Past President and wish you all the best in your future endeavours,” Hustler said.
